Project UNITE, An Online Web Course

Welcome.

The A STEP Curriculum is an online course made available through collaboration between Las Clinicas del Norte and A Step Ahead, Inc. The faculty for this curriculum has participated in the development and planning process through support for Project UNITE by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the US Department of Health and Human Services. The curriculum offers participants the following:

• Internet-based learning and communication through familiarity with accessible technology,
• Case studies for illustration of the complex service needs of families,
• Strategies to address common medical problems affecting families,
• Interdisciplinary team approaches to work with families,
• Developmental profiles of young children,
• Better understanding of legal issues impacting children,
• Strategies for intensive case management,
• Implications of community-based planning,
• Solution-focused approaches to use while working with families, and
• Methods for resolving disputes.
